Bernal wins Colombian TT title

Egan Bernal claimed an emotional victory in the Colombian National Time Trial Championship in Bucaramanga.

The Grenadier clocked a winning time of 50 minutes and 51 seconds across the 42.2-kilometre course to win the title for a second time.

Bernal was joined by teammate Brandon Rivera on the podium, with his friend and compatriot taking third place, 29 seconds back. Walter Vargas (Team Medellin-EPM) rounded out the podium places, with Bernal's eventual margin of victory sitting at seven seconds.

The win marked Bernal's first victory since his training accident in 2022, and marks his second national title after success in the same discipline in 2018.
