The INEOS Grenadiers held their ground on GC as the breakaway took the stage on a hot and lumpy day in southern Spain.

Josh Tarling and Kim Heiduk were active off the front of the bunch as they looked to make a move. Despite pulling a sizeable group away, they were caught on the first of four categorised climbs.

On the final climb, a second breakaway competed for the stage win our front, while Carlos Rodriguez, Laurens De Plus, and Thymen Arensman, all finished with the GC group.
