Egan Bernal and Thymen Arensman put in strong GC performances to secure second and third overall at the Tour of the Alps.
Bernal sprinted to second on the final stage, with Arensman fourth as Giulio Pellizzari (Red Bull Bora Hansgrohe) took the stage and race win.
Earlier in the day there had been a fierce fight to get into the breakaway with the INEOS Grenadiers looking to help control the escapees.
When the break did go, the team remained attentive near the front of the peloton, with Nicolas Milesi and Tobais Foss sharing the workload.
As the race reached the Nobis/Montoppio category one climb, Peter Øxenberg and Embret Svestad-Bårdseng were able to increase the pace which started to reduce the size of the peloton.
This saw the numbers continue to dwindle, but with 20 kilometres remaining Pellizzari attacked and created a small gap to Bernal and Arensman.
The duo pushed hard and worked well behind to try and reduce the gap as they descended into Bozen/Bolzano, but were unable to catch the Italian, sealing second and third overall as they build to their next goal, the Giro d'Italia.
