Oscar Onley led the Grenadiers home on the stage five summit finish at Volta a Catalunya, as Dorian Godon continues to lead the points classification.
Facing five categorised climbs, Embret Svestad-Bardseng, Carlos Rodriguez and Onley combined well in the bunch while an earlier break attacked up the final HC climb.
Onley set his own tempo to lead home the Grenadiers, finishing 18th on the day, while Godon maintains his lead in the points jersey. Jonas Vingegaard (Visma | Lease a Bike) won the stage solo to move into the overall lead with two stages to go.
Coppi e Bartali
Over in Italy on the third stage of Coppi e Bartali, AJ August finished in 11th place after tackling the category one Passo Tre Termini.
Axel Laurance suffered a puncture and still managed to finish in the bunch, and currently sits second in the points classification.
E3 Harelbeke
At E3 Harelbeke, Magnus Sheffield sprinted to the finish as part a large secondary chase group, finishing just outside the top 10 in 12th.
The American came to the fore on the final climbs of the race, but was unable to force his way into the running for the top positions. Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-PremierTech) narrowly held on at the line to win solo, just five seconds ahead of a four-man group.
Connor Swift rode well to get up the road at the race’s mid-point, working his way into a secondary breakaway, which was briefly joined by Van der Poel with 65km to go on his route to victory.
