- race Report
Ethan Hayter put in a powerful effort in the prologue of the Deutschland Tour to place fourth, just three seconds off the win.
The course consisted of just three kilometres of reasonably untechnical roads, meaning power would be key to posting a good time. Hayter put down an impressive marker of 3’19”, to briefly go fastest, before being unseated by eventual winner Jonathan Milan (Lidl - Trek).
Mads Pedersen (Lidl - Trek) and Maikel Zijlaard (Tudor) would go faster than the Brit, by just fractions of a second. This left Ethan in fourth on the stage and overall, with four stages still to come. Filippo Ganna would also post a competitive time, coming in 14th, just seven seconds down.
