Jhonatan Narvaez sprinted to fourth on stage 11 of La Vuelta after a strong ride in the day’s breakaway.

The day was fast from the off, with multiple moves forming and then being chased down by the peloton. Eventually, a huge move of around 30 riders, including Narvaez and Brandon Rivera, broke free and were allowed to build a gap.

As the group approached the final, fierce climb, Jhony paced himself well to be with the leaders over the top. Into the finale and The Ecuadorian was in a strong position, but a late attack from Eddie Dunbar (Jayco - AlUla) saw him take the win solo. Narvaez would lead the main breakaway across the line for fourth.

On the same climb, the pace was on in the GC group. Carlos rode well to cross the line in the lead GC group, gaining over 30 seconds on many of his competitors to jump up into sixth overall, and moving into the White Jersey for best young rider.
