Narvaez sprints to seventh in Sevilla

Jhonatan Narvaez sprinted to seventh on stage five of the Vuelta a Espana after the team navigated a hot day safely.

While most of the stage was taken at a leisurely pace, the peloton began to ramp up the speed for the last 50 kilometres. Such was the pace that the bunch strung out and some riders were jettisoned in a slight crosswind.

Into the finale, and with the breakaway caught, Kim Heiduk took to the head of the bunch to keep Jhonny up and out of trouble. Narvaez surfed the wheels well and made up positions all the way to the line, where he would finish seventh.
