Tom Pidcock added a World Championship bronze medal to his Olympic Gold, following a hard-fought XCO race in Andorra.

The Brit battled back from deep in the pack to add a podium finish to his list of World Championship honours.

The day was also significant as Pauline Ferrand-Prevot completed her final mountain bike race, finishing 14th.

It was all smiles at the finish as the French star - a five-time MTB world champion and the reigning Olympic champion - was greeted and embraced by family and fellow competitors.

The race marked the finale of an incredible chapter of her career, with the multi-discipline star looking at new challenges heading into next season.

For Pidcock it was a tough ask to shut down the duo of Alan Hatherly (South Africa) and Victor Koretzky (France), with Hatherly eventually powering clear on the final climb to win solo.

In the women's race, Puck Pieterse (Netherlands) put in an impressive performance to win by a margin of 59 seconds.
