Jhonatan Narvaez sprinted to 13th on stage 17 of La Vuelta after helping Carlos Rodriguez and the team finish safely on a treacherous day.

Most of the stage was characterised by the conditions, with heavy rain falling for much of it. In the finale, through the slick streets of Santander, the Grenadiers rode convincingly to keep to the fore and avoid any potential incidents.

All five riders would cross the line safely, and ready to tackle stage 18 tomorrow.
