WorldTour season kicks off Down Under

The WorldTour season begun in earnest early this morning with the first stage of the 2025 Tour Down Under.

The day consisted of a reasonably flat 150 kilometre run from Prospect to Gumeracha. A break of three latterly became two, and their five-minute advantage was consumed with over 20 kilometres remaining.

A fast, slightly downhill run to the line saw the Grenadiers positioned well to avoid trouble, before Ben Swift sprinted to fifth.
